Permanent Change of Station with the Commissioned Corps
of the U.S.Public Health Service

Permanent change of station (PCS), in general, is the assignment, detail, or transfer of a member or unit to a different permanent duty station (PDS) under a competent order that does not specify the duty as temporary, provide for further assignment to a new PDS, or direct return to the old PDS.

Just the thought of relocating your family to a new duty station can be stressful or overwhelming because it is always a challenge to move. You may have even forgotten most of what you knew from a previous permanent change of station .

There are always many decisions to be made: finding a new home, new church, new schools for children, and leaving behind friends and family members.

Within these PCS sections are moving tips and other helpful information to assist you and your dependents in conjunction with your PCS move.
