- Effective 1 January 2009 the PCS MALT rate will change from $.27 per mile to $.24 per mile. The
$.24/mile rate is effective for all PCS travel that commences on or after 1 January 2009. The $.27 MALT rate was in effect from 1 July – 31 December 2008. PCS
travel that commenced prior to 1 January 2009 must be paid at the old rate ($.27/mile) even if the travel was not completed until after 1 January 2009.
- The local and TDY POC, airplane, and motorcycle mileage rates have been decreased for a car from $0.585 to $0.55 per mile, an airplane $1.26 to $1.24, and a motorcycle $0.585 to $0.52. These changes are effective 1 January 2009.
- Effective 26 November 2008 the maximum authorized amount for Temporary Lodging Expense
(TLE) has been increased from $180 to $290 per day.
