New DVA Health History/Environmental Exposure Documentation Opportunity for Corps Officers |
|
The Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) has created a new database that allows individual veterans to
‘tell their military story.’ This opportunity allows veterans to set up personal accounts and keep a
permanent record of their Uniformed Service health/exposure to toxic substances or diseases history in
their own words in a safe, secure place. At the veteran’s discretion, he or she can share this history
with DVA healthcare providers. Documenting each veteran’s story will help physicians see their patients
more as a whole person rather than “just a series of symptoms and diseases.” |
|
This database accommodates U.S. Public Health Service (PHS) Commissioned Corps officers, even those with
no Department of Defense background. PHS choices are in relevant dropdown menus, etc. |
