New DVA Health History/Environmental Exposure Documentation Opportunity for Corps Officers

The Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) has created a new database that allows individual veterans to ‘tell their military story.’ This opportunity allows veterans to set up personal accounts and keep a permanent record of their Uniformed Service health/exposure to toxic substances or diseases history in their own words in a safe, secure place. At the veteran’s discretion, he or she can share this history with DVA healthcare providers. Documenting each veteran’s story will help physicians see their patients more as a whole person rather than “just a series of symptoms and diseases.”

This database accommodates U.S. Public Health Service (PHS) Commissioned Corps officers, even those with no Department of Defense background. PHS choices are in relevant dropdown menus, etc.
