Call for Nominations for the Environmental Health Officer PAC 2006 Awards Deadline Date: 3 April 2006 | ||
The Environmental Health Officer Professional Advisory Committee (EHOPAC) is accepting nominations for four awards to honor outstanding U.S. Public Health Service (PHS) environmental health professionals. Nominees may be PHS Commissioned Corps officers or Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) civil service employees at the specific ranks or grades noted below. | ||
The John C. Eason Award recognizes the accomplishments of a talented newcomer to the field of environmental health and acknowledges the promise the recipient holds for the future of PHS. The award is limited to environmental health professionals who have served 5 years or less with any HHS Operating Division/Staff Division or non-HHS organization to which PHS Commissioned Corps officers are assigned, and who are at the rank/grade of Temporary O-3/GS-11 and below. | ||
The Edward (Ted) Moran Award recognizes an outstanding environmental health professional at the Temporary O-4/GS-12 or Temporary O-5/GS-13 level who consistently achieves high standards in the practice of environmental health, occupational health and safety, industrial hygiene, or radiological health. | ||
The John G. Todd Award is the highest honor given by the EHOPAC. The award recognizes an exemplary environmental health professional at the Temporary O-6/GS-14 level or above for significant career contributions in achieving the PHS mission of improving the Nation’s health through the practice of environmental health. | ||
The Tomas E. Crow Mentor Award recognizes significant contributions by an individual who has enhanced professional growth and career development of environmental health professionals working in the PHS by serving in a mentoring capacity. | ||
