Information Technology Professional Advisory Group Announcement |
We would like to inform you about the Health Services Information Technology Professional Advisory Group (ITPAG). The ITPAG’s purpose is to consider information technology (IT) discipline-specific professional issues, and advise the Surgeon General -- through the Health Services Professional Advisory Committee (HS-PAC) and Chief Heath Services Officer -- regarding such issues. The ITPAG functions in a resource and advisory capacity to assist in the development, coordination, training, and evaluation of activities related to the IT professional discipline in the U.S. Public Health Service (PHS) Commissioned Corps. |
The ITPAG is composed of IT professionals working in Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Operating Divisions/Staff Divisions and non-HHS organizations where PHS Commissioned Corps officers are assigned. The current members include CDR Kellie J. Clelland (Food and Drug Administration (FDA)), CDR Donald L. Sawyer (Indian Health Service), LT Laurie A. Hall (FDA), LT Sunil Patel (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)), and LTJG Steven Miller (CDC). |
If you would like more information, please visit the site http://www.usphs-hso.org/ITPAG/ITPAG.shtml. The ITPAG meets on the 3rd Thursday of every month from 2 to 3 p.m. (Eastern time), and the meeting is usually conducted via teleconference. If you would like to be involved with the ITPAG or if you have any questions, please contact CDR Donald L. Sawyer at Donald.Sawyer@ihs.gov. Although the ITPAG is a sub group of the HS-PAC, we are seeking input from all categories. If you are in any category and are working in an IT capacity, we are interested in hearing from you. |
