In support of the victims of Hurricane Katrina, the Office of Force Readiness and Deployment (OFRD) is engaged
in its largest deployment ever. OFRD deployments are ongoing and in flux at this time. The list below gives
examples of some of the venues at which Public Health Service Commissioned Corps officers have been or are
being deployed. |

- Pharmacy Mission at the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Warehouse and at the Strategic National Stockpile (SNS)

- Louisiana (LA) and Mississippi (MS) Federal Medical Stations
- LA Veterinarian Mission
- LA and MS Management Support Teams
- LA and MS Mental Health Mission

In addition, numerous officers have been deployed directly by their respective Operating Divisions, Staff
Divisions, and non-HHS organizations to which officers are assigned, to missions such as those listed below
while others are on call for Hurricane Ophelia: |

- Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Director’s Emergency Operations Center;
- Health Resources and Services Administration, (EOC);
- Food and Drug Administration, EOC;
- CDC Public Health Teams;
- National Disaster Medical System Management Support Teams; and
- U.S. Coast Guard, National Park Service, and Environmental Protection Agency response missions.
