2006 ‘Operation Purple’ Summer Camp Program Sponsored by NMFA |
|
The National Military Family Association (NMFA) oversees the ‘Operation Purple’ Summer Camp Program for
children of those in the Uniformed Services who have been deployed. More than 140,000 children have at
least one parent who is deployed in the war on terrorism. This figure doesn’t even include those
experiencing routine, but often lengthy, deployments and separations from loved ones. |
|
There are 26 ‘Operation Purple’ camp locations in 22 States. The 2006 registration began 15 March and
ends 1 May 2006. Each camp is open to children of any member of the Uniformed Services including the
Commissioned Corps of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the Commissioned Corps of
the U.S. Public Health Service plus the National Guard and Reserve. |
