2007 George F. Archambault Public Health Service (PHS)
Career Achievement Award in Pharmacy is awarded to:

RADM John Babb
Regional Health Administrator, Office of the Secretary, Kansas City, MO.

This award recognizes a senior level pharmacist serving under the authority of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) for outstanding career achievements and/or outstanding contributions to the pharmacy profession during his/her career with the Commissioned Corps of the U.S. Public Health Service (Corps). RADM Babb is recognized for his outstanding leadership, advancement of HHS readiness response doctrine, commitment to the Corps, and service to the Nation.

2007 Mary Louise Andersen Leadership Award is awarded to:
 
CAPT Mary Fong
Chief Pharmacist, U.S. Coast Guard, Washington, DC


This award recognizes the achievements of pharmacists in the Commissioned Corps of the U.S. Public Health Service in non-traditional or administrative roles. CAPT Fong is recognized for her outstanding leadership in multi-agency activities and complex operations.

2007 Allen J. Brands PHS Clinical Pharmacist of the Year is awarded to:

Dr. Karim Calis, Pharm.D., M.P.H.
Pharmacist, National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, MD


This award recognizes the achievements of pharmacists in the Department of Health and Human Services who provide traditional pharmaceutical services. Dr. Calis is recognized for excellence in patient care, teaching, and clinical research.

2007 USPHS Award for Managerial Excellence Improving Pharmacy Service
or Public Health to:

CDR Sharon Oestereich
Chief Pharmacist, Federal Bureau of Prisons, White Deer, PA

This award recognizes a pharmacist with less than 15 years of active duty in the Commissioned Corps of the U.S. Public Health Service (Corps), who has improved pharmacy service or the public’s health through managerial excellence. CDR Oestereich is recognized for her numerous contributions to the Federal Correctional Complex (FCC) Allenwood and dedicated service to the Federal Bureau of Prisons and the Corps.

2007 Pharmacist Responder of the Year Award is awarded to:

CAPT Michael Montello
Pharmacist, National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, MD

This award recognizes a pharmacist who has provided outstanding emergency preparedness disaster response, and contributions to national or international public health threats within the last 12 months. CAPT Montello is recognized for exceptional leadership and accomplishments in the area of public health and medical emergency preparedness and response.
