CAPT Postelle Birch-Smith

CAPT Postelle Birch-Smith is a longtime member and advocate of BCOAG. She served as BCOAG Chair in 2011 and MOLC Chair in 2012. She is credited with starting the NOLA Mission which has evolved into the BCOAG Hometown Missions. Additionally, for the past 2 years she has co-facilitated the annual BCOAG Town Hall meeting.

CAPT Birch-Smith has over 23 years of service in PHS and 19 years of service in the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). She currently serves as a Team Leader in FDA’s Office of Compounding Quality and Compliance (OCQC) within the Office of Compliance in the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research (CDER).CAPT Birch-Smith is a mother of two, a proud HBCU graduate and member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She earned a Doctor of Pharmacy from Howard University College of Pharmacy in Washington and completed a Pharmacy Practice Residency at Brookdale Hospital in Brooklyn, NY.

In her spare time, CAPT Birch-Smith also known as “Dr. Pos” co-hosts a weekly video podcast live every Wednesday where she supports listeners with their relationships with money.
