LCDR Bryan Wimer, EIT

LCDR Wimer was Commissioned in December 2017 and was part of OBC 100. He began working at the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) in Morgantown, WV at the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH). He worked as a Safety Engineer in the Division of Safety Research where he researched projects relating to safety within the construction industry, including work with aerial lifts, mast climbing work platforms, personal fall arrest systems, construction hard hats, and collaborative robots. In 2022 he transferred to the National Personal Protective Technology Laboratory in Pittsburgh, PA. There, LCDR Wimer is part of the Respirator Approval Program for manufacturers that are seeking NIOSH respirator approval.
During the COVID-19 Pandemic, LCDR Wimer was deployed in multiple roles for the CDC. He completed several field deployments, as well as supported NIOSH task force teams virtually his with subject matter expertise, and served as the NIOSH Deployment Lead overseeing all NIOSH deployers multiple times. He has authorships on over 30 publications and has been awarded two US Patents. LCDR Wimer has served on RDF-1, as the President of the West Virginia Commissioned Officers Association, as co-lead for PACE Region 3, and is a member of Society of American Military Engineers and the Commissioned Officers Association.
LCDR Wimer resides in Morgantown, West Virginia with his wife and three sons. He loves everything related to his beloved West Virginia University Mountaineers, hunting and fishing, camping, traveling, cars, and the ancient sport of Irish Road Bowling (YouTube it).
