CDR David Gwisdalla, P.E.

EPAC Readiness Subcommittee Chair

CDR Gwisdalla began his Commissioned Corps career in 2011 as a Lieutenant Commander with the US Environmental Protection Agency Region 8’s National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NDPES) Enforcement Unit as an enforcement officer in Denver, Colorado. He was reassigned to the National Enforcement Investigation’s Center as an investigator, and then led NEIC’s Field Branch Chief covering all investigation field operations. He subsequently took a career broadening assignment with the Office of Research and Development in the Safety, Health and Environmental Management branch as an Industrial Hygienist in Cincinnati, Ohio. He is currently assigned to ORD’s Technical Support Coordination Division as the Director of the Engineering Technical Support Center (ETSC) providing consulting services to Superfund sites around the country. CDR Gwisdalla was a member of the disbanded Tier I NIST Team and deployed multiple times in various roles. He also more recently deployed as the Commander of the CCHQ Command Cell supporting PHS officer deployments, as an Incident Management Team Operations Division Group Supervisor, and as the Federal Behavioral Health Coordinator for Operations Allies Welcome in Holloman, Air Force Base. He has also supported various EPAC Subcommittees since 2015 in a variety of roles.

CDR Gwisdalla is a graduate of Michigan State University with a Master of Science in Environmental Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. He is a member of the Society of American Military Engineers and is a licensed professional engineer (in Colorado and Michigan). CDR Gwisdalla is married to his wife Julie and they have two children. David is an avid mountain biker, hiker, and hunter.
