CAPT Gregory Ault, P.E.

CAPT Gregory Ault, P.E. is a Mechanical Engineer working as the Associate Area Director for the Office of Environmental Health and Engineering (OEHE), Billings Area Indian Health Service (IHS), located in Billings Montana.   As Director of OEHE, CAPT Ault oversees the Facility Management Program, the Sanitation Facilities Construction Program, and the Environmental Health Program for the Billings Area within IHS.  CAPT Ault has a Bachelors in Science in Mechanical Engineering from Montana State University, and a Masters of Engineering in Engineering Management from Colorado State University.  CAPT Ault is a registered professional engineer in the State of Montana.

CAPT Ault was commissioned in the USPHS in 2005 and served in multiple roles at the Billings Area Indian Health Service, including as Utility Consultant for the Sanitation Facilities Construction Program, Acting Director of Facilities Management, and Acting Chief Executive Officer for the Wind River Service Unit.  CAPT Ault has held various leadership roles and miscellaneous assignments both national and local to represent the Billings Area Office such as the Environmental Steering Committee, Facilities Appropriation Advisory Board as Technical Representative, and is the Billings Area Commissioned Corps Award Board Chair.  Prior to CAPT Ault’s time with IHS he worked as a Tooling Engineer for The Boeing Company in Seattle and for an Architectural and Engineering Firm where he was contracted to IHS.

CAPT Ault served as the Chair of the Events Subcommittee in 2022.  CAPT Ault was the Vice-Chair for the Events Subcommittee in 2021 and has been actively involved in the Billings Area Awards program, Awards Subcommittee, Rules Subcommittee, Associate Recruiter Program, and Big Sky COA.  CAPT Ault has deployed to Puerto Rico and other interagency response missions.  CAPT Ault is married to his wife Amber, and they have three girls and can be found chasing youth sports, boating, hiking, and camping.
