CDR Kimberly Piermatteo, MHA
EPAC Liaison, Commissioned Corps Women’s Issues Advisory Board (CCWIAB)
CDR Kimberly Piermatteo has been assigned as a biomedical engineer with the Food & Drug Administration’s (FDA) since 2006. She is stationed in Silver Spring, MD, and is currently responsible for educating manufacturers, consumers, and other stakeholders, including academia and other government organizations, on scientific, regulatory, and policy issues related to medical devices and radiation-emitting products. CDR Piermatteo received her Bachelor of Science in Honors Engineering Science and minors in Bioengineering and Mathematics from the Pennsylvania State University, University Park in 2005. She also received her Master of Health Administration (MHA) at the University of Maryland, College Park in 2013.
CDR Piermatteo is currently serving as the EPAC liaison to the Commissioned Corps Women’s Issues Advisory Board (CCWIAB) and active member of the EPAC Rules Subcommittee. She previously served as the 2016 EPAC Chair, two terms as an EPAC voting member (2010 – 2015), chaired the Recruitment and Retention, Readiness, and Rules Subcommittees and served as the 2009 EPAC Executive Secretary. CDR Piermatteo and her husband, Marc, enjoy their hobby farm and spending time with their children, Analeigh and Everett.
