| The Office of Commissioned Corps Operations (OCCO) is preparing for the Promotion Year 2010 (PY10) cycle (July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2011) for the temporary and permanent grades.
The Promotion Information Web site can be accessed through the Commissioned Corps Management Information System (CCMIS) Web site at http://dcp.psc.gov under the ‘Services’ tab or a direct link to the Promotion Information Web site can be accessed at http://dcp.psc.gov//promotions_table_of_contents.aspx . The Promotion Information Web site is a comprehensive review of the promotion process and all that it involves. It contains topics listed on the left side of the page which are links to the explanation of that topic as well as the documents needed to complete the promotion preparation process. Officers who anticipate being eligible for competitive promotion review in PY10 are strongly encouraged to familiarize themselves with all of the information on the Promotion Information Web site. OCCO has electronically posted the ‘Notification of Promotion Eligibility’ on the officer's main page in the Secure Area of the CCMIS. Officers should logon to the ‘Officer and Liaison Activities’ screen under the ‘Secure Area’ of the CCMIS Web site to determine if they are eligible for competitive temporary and/or permanent grade promotion consideration. The procedure for access to the ‘Secure Area’ of the CCMIS Web site is as follows: Access the CCMIS home page at http://dcp.psc.gov. Select the ‘Secure Area’ tab, and then the select ‘Officer, Liaison, and Leave Maintenance Clerk Activities.’ Enter your Logon ID and Password. Call the Helpdesk at 301-594-0961 or e-mail the Helpdesk at cchelpdesk@psc.gov if you have difficulty accessing your main page in the Secure Area, or if you do not have a logon ID and password. Once logged in, officers will see a statement that indicates whether or not they are eligible for consideration by the 2010 Promotion Boards. If an officer is eligible for a competitive promotion, he/she should note the eligible grade(s) and click on the link to review the Promotion Information Web site. It is imperative that officers who are eligible for competitive promotion carefully read the information contained on the Promotion Information Web site and follow the instructions for each document. |
