Post 9/11 GI Bill Update
On January 4, 2011, President Obama signed the Post 9/11 Veterans Educational Assistance Improvements Act.

The Act allows transfer authority of unused educational benefits for members of PHS. The purpose of this authority is to promote recruitment and retention in the uniformed services. The Secretary of the Health and Human Services may exercise the authority for that purpose when authorized by the Secretary of Defense in the national security interests of the United States. The effective date of these amendments made shall take effect on August 1, 2011.
