The American Indian/Alaska Native Commissioned Officer Advisory Committee (AI/ANCOAC) is now accepting nominations for its 2010 National Honor Awards. These awards were established to recognize American Indian and Alaska Native commissioned officers of the Commissioned Corps of the U.S. Public Health Service (Corps) who have made significant contributions in public health and their chosen profession to advance the health of American Indians and Alaska Natives.
The AI/ANCOAC will be accepting nominations for the following awards:
- Leadership Award
- Annie Dodge Wauneka Award
- Flag Officer Award
- Senior Officer Award
- Junior Officer Award

Important points to remember:
- Deadline for submission is 12 March 2010;
- Nominees must be an AI/AN Corps officer;
- Nominees must maintain basic force readiness standards;
- Emphasis for nomination should be placed on the following: sustained outstanding performance; superior contribution to the field of the officer’s discipline; and evidence of dedication to the principle of the Corps’ Public Health Service mission, vision, and goals;
- Only nominations received by the deadline will be considered; and
