Travel and Transportation Information and
Tax Season Reminder
|
|
Please remember the Commissioned Corps Management Information System (CCMIS) Web site (http://dcp.psc.gov) contains a Travel and Transportation Information Center located under the ‘Services’ tab. The Travel and Transportation Information Center contains important information concerning permanent change of station (PCS) and temporary duty (TDY) travel.
Officers should use the Travel and Transportation Information Center for basic initial questions related to their travel. It provides information such as current travel allowance rates, links to official travel forms, instructions for shipment of household goods, reimbursement instructions and examples, and a frequently asked question and answer section.
Officers may also contact the Commissioned Corps Travel Coordinator using the Commissioned Corps of the U.S. Public Health Service email for travel and transportation questions:
phstravel@hhs.gov
Important Reminder During Tax Season for Officers after a Personally Procured Transportation (PPT) Move:
When Government-procured household goods transportation is available and a service member personally arranges transportation, the financial profit portion of the monetary allowance/incentive payment is subject to Federal (and possibly State) income tax. The tax amount can be reduced by providing valid receipts for allowable deductions such as the cost of a rental vehicle, packing materials, moving aids, tolls, and gasoline.
