Minority Officers Liaison Council Celebrates 20th Anniversary

To address one of the Surgeon General’s priorities - ‘to eliminate health disparities in our Nation’ - the Minority Officers Liaison Council (MOLC) is planning to celebrate its 20th Anniversary by hosting a one-day symposium on health disparities. The purpose of this event is to promote awareness of Federal, state and local initiatives in the elimination of health disparities and to highlight the role of the Commissioned Corps of the U.S. Public Health Service (Corps) and other entities to public health organizations in this important effort.
The symposium will be held on 10 December 2010 from 0900 to 1600 hrs. in the Reyes Building, 4th Floor Reyes Conference Room, 801 Thompson Avenue, Rockville, MD 20852. The event will be free of charge and lunch will be provided. The symposium will be open to government staff, Corps officers, and state and local public health community leaders. The symposium will consist of presentations and panel discussions highlighting state-of-the-art approaches to addressing the elimination of health disparities.
