Office of Commissioned Corps Support Services
Realigned Under Administrative Operations Service

The Office of Commissioned Corps Support Services (OCCSS), which is comprised of the Medical Affairs Branch, Compensation Branch, and Commissioned Corps Systems Branch, has been realigned under the Administrative Operations Service (AOS) of the Program Support Center (PSC). This action is part of the initiative to optimize efficiencies and enhance the quality of services provided to PSC customers.

AOS provides a wide range of administrative and technical services, among which are: property management; technical support; and information technology payroll. The mission of AOS is to provide high-quality administrative support services at competitive prices by capitalizing on its expertise and leveraging economies of scale.

Dr. Michael A. Tyllas, Director of AOS, has more than 26 years of combined clinical and administrative experience. He holds a Ph.D. in Social Welfare Policy, Administration and Organization, and is Board Certified in Healthcare Management as a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives. "I admire the mission of the Commissioned Corps of the U.S. Public Health Service. I'm honored to serve the essential and distinguished health care professionals who work so hard and effectively to help so many," said Dr. Tyllas.

Aligning OCCSS with AOS will provide benefits for staff members and customers alike. Together the strength and synergies created by the combined organizations will produce opportunities and value adding contributions that improve customer service and strengthen overall PSC service levels.
