PAPAG - Call for Nominations 2007

The Physician Assistant Professional Advisory Group (PAPAG) provides advice and consultation to the The Physician Assistant Professional Advisory Group (PAPAG) provides advice and consultation to the Surgeon General, through the Health Services Professional Advisory Committee (HS-PAC) and Health Services Chief Professional Officer, on professional and personnel issues related to Physician Assistants in the Commissioned Corps of the U.S. Public Health Service (Corps). The PAPAG is looking for seven (7) new voting members. Selections, which are based on the nomineeís commitment to public health and Physician Assistant activities in addition to specified criteria in the PAPAG bylaws (e.g., organizational, gender, minority representation), will begin August 2006. Terms of office will begin January 2007 and shall be for 3 years.
 
PAPAG voting members are expected to participate in scheduled teleconference meetings as required by the groupsí needs. Members may be excused from a meeting with prior approval from the PAPAG Chair. Each Corps active-duty voting member shall meet Office of Force Readiness and Deploymentís (OFRD) Basic level of force readiness. Membership in the Public Health Service Academy of Physician Assistants (PHSAPA) is strongly encouraged but not required. Department of Health and Human Services civil service employees, Corps inactive reservists, and retired Corps Physician Assistants are eligible for appointment as voting members, however are not expected to meet OFRDís Basic level of force readiness.

Please complete the self-nomination form and send it along with a current curriculum vitae (CV), CV summary sheet, and cover letter describing how your specific experience and expertise will benefit the PAPAG. The completed package must be submitted via e-mail no later than 30 June 2006 to LT Mark F. McKinnon at mmckinnon5@gmail.com.
 
Membership on the PAPAG is a great way to show your Corps support and enhance your career.
