Call for Nominations for Annual Awards

The Awards Committee of the Pharmacist Professional Advisory Committee (PharmPac) announces the annual pharmacist honor awards. There are four annual awards:
THE U.S. PUBLIC HEALTH SERVICE
ALLEN J. BRANDS CLINICAL PHARMACIST OF THE YEAR AWARD
This award recognizes the achievements of pharmacists in the Commissioned Corps of the U.S. Public Health Service (Corps) and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) who provide traditional pharmaceutical services, with primary emphasis on activities accomplished within the past 18 months.
THE U.S. PUBLIC HEALTH SERVICE
MARY LOUISE ANDERSEN LEADERSHIP AWARD (NON-CLINICAL)
This award recognizes the achievements of pharmacists in the Commissioned Corps of the U.S. Public Health Service and the Department of Health and Human Services in non-traditional or administrative roles, with primary emphasis on activities accomplished within the past 18 months.
THE U.S. PUBLIC HEALTH SERVICE
GEORGE F. ARCHAMBAULT PHS CAREER ACHIEVEMENT AWARD IN PHARMACY
This award recognizes senior civil service (GS-11 and above) or pharmacist officers of the Commissioned Corps of the U.S. Public Health Service (O-5 and above) serving under the authority of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), with at least 15 years of HHS service, for outstanding achievements and/or contributions to the pharmacy profession in HHS.
THE U.S. PUBLIC HEALTH SERVICE
USPHS AWARD OF MANAGERIAL EXCELLENCE IN IMPROVING PHARMACY SERVICE OR PUBLIC HEALTH
This award is sponsored annually by the George F. Archambault Foundation, through the generous financial support of the Bayer Corporation, to recognize a pharmacist in the Commissioned Corps of the U.S. Public Health Service or Department of Health and Human Services who has improved pharmacy service or public health through managerial excellence.

Please take the time to nominate deserving pharmacists, both HHS civil service and officers of the Commissioned Corps of the U.S. Public Health Service, for these awards. The awards will be presented during the 2008 USPHS Scientific and Training Symposium in Tucson, Arizona. All nominations and appropriate documentation must be received no later than 30 March 2008.
