 Recruitment Service Ribbon

Submitted by: CDR Thomas Pryor, Senior Recruitment Specialist/ARP Coordinator,
Division Commissioned Corps Recruitment, Office of Commissioned Corps Operations

Those officers of the Commissioned Corps of the U.S. Public Health Service who maintained active status in the Associate Recruiter Program (ARP) since 2006 are eligible for the Recruitment Service Ribbon (RSR). A formal review process of eligible ARP participants was completed by each category Chief Professional Officer (CPO), Associate Recruiter Leads (ARLs), and the ARP staff. No action was required of any individual officer.

The processing of service and recognition awards was completed in August 2009 in accordance with current policy. Officers selected to receive the RSR are now authorized to wear the RSR and this is therefore annotated in the officer’s electronic Official Personnel Folder (eOPF). The RSR and certificate were mailed in February 2010 to each officer’s address as recorded in the Commissioned Corps Management Information System (CCMIS) Web site under ‘Officer Locator.’

For those officers who received eOPF notification, additional RSRs may be purchased at Navy (Bethesda) and online from the Hansen’s Disease Center (Louisiana), or Ultra Thin.

If there are any questions, please contact the ARP Coordinator, CDR Thomas Pryor, or the ARP Assistant, Ms. Cyndia Harroway, via the ARP e-mail account: ARP@hhs.gov
