Exercise at Tohatchi Health Center |

Officers of the Commissioned Corps of the U.S. Public Health Service (Corps) at
the Tohatchi Health Center, completed a mass influenza immunization exercise on
9 November 2006. The event took place in the small town of Tohatchi, NM, which is
a satellite clinic of the Gallup Service Unit, Indian Health Service. Tohatchi is
approximately 25 miles from the main Gallup Indian Medical Center.

The officers: CDR Seyed H. Mortazavi, Dental category; LCDR Cecil M. Aycock, Pharmacist
category; LCDR Pamela Smiley, Nurse category; LT Lillian Jones, Nurse category;
and CDR Ruth Kawano, Nurse category and exercise evaluator and vaccinator, did an
outstanding job of coordinating and implementing the mass influenza immunization
exercise for over 665 patients within a 4-hour period of operation.

The Gallup Indian Medical Center sponsored influenza immunization exercises involving
the city of Gallup and the surrounding communities. Overall, more than 6,000 patients
(young and old and at various sites) were immunized.
