Commissioned Corps Management Review | ||||||
Dr. Howard Koh, the Assistant Secretary for Health (ASH), VADM Regina Benjamin, Surgeon General, RADM Boris Lushniak, Deputy Surgeon General, and RADM Christopher Halliday, Chief of Staff, presented the reorganization plan to the flag officers, Chief Professional Officers, Surgeon General’s Policy Advisory Council, Agency Liaisons, and Office of Commissioned Corps Force Management and Office of Commissioned Corps Operations staff.
The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) requested a comprehensive management review of the Commissioned Corps of the U.S. Public Health Service (Corps) focusing on three areas:
Based on the findings and feedback, the management review report was submitted to OMB in September 2010. The goal of the reorganization is to create a more efficient and effective organization by consolidating Corps functions under the Office of the Surgeon General with clear points of accountability.
