Time to Get Serious
Submitted by Evan Shukan and CAPT Shelley Hoogstraten-Miller

Any time is a good time to start getting serious about fitness, and as Commissioned Corps officers, we strive to lead healthy and fit lives every day, leading by example. Why not choose to go beyond the Annual Physical Fitness Test (APFT) this year and join the Public Health Service Army Ten-Miler Team Sunday, October 9, 2011?

Registration opens May 15th, or May 1st if you have a “.mil” E-mail address, for this beautiful race which takes place on, through and among the monuments in downtown Washington, DC. Last year, the registration sold out and closed in 35 hours!!

Interested? Of course you are!! Contact Evan Shukan at shukanet@mail.nih.gov and CAPT Shelley Hoogstraten-Miller at shoogstr@mail.nih.gov for more information. Volunteers to cheer for your fellow officers on race day are also enthusiastically welcomed.
