The Professional Advisory Committee (PAC) Chairs Group facilitates communications among the professional categories of the U.S. Public Health Service (PHS). Each professional category in the USPHS has a PAC composed of officers volunteering to fill numerous roles, including, planning conferences, meetings, recruiting, and professional development. Each PAC is led by a chairperson. The PAC Chairs will provide advice and consultation to the Chief Professional Officers and the Surgeon General on issues relating to the professional practice and personnel activities of PHS that span professional categories of either Commissioned Corps (CC) officers or civil service employees.

The highly experienced professional leaders in the PAC Chairs Group represent all categories of the USPHS with a cross discipline and cross agency perspective. They consult and advise their categories regarding Commissioned Corps and Civil Service public health issues and support policy implementation. Through an interdependent relationship with DCCPR and the CPO Board, the PAC Chairs Group leads the Corps as an interconnected unit in protecting, promoting, and advancing the health and safety of our Nation.
