Call for Nominations – Dietitian PAC’s

Self-nominations are being solicited for individuals interested in serving on the Dietitian Professional Advisory Committee (Dietitian-PAC) for a 6-month term as Chairperson-Elect followed by a 1-year term as Chairperson. The term of service will begin on 1 October 2010.
As Chairperson-Elect of the Dietitian PAC your primary duty is to acquaint yourself with the ongoing business of the Dietitian-PAC and the duties of the Chairperson to ensure a smooth transition when the Chairperson-Elect assumes the office of Chairperson. The Chairperson-Elect will assist the Chairperson in the execution of Dietitian-PAC business. These duties include representing the Chairperson at the Dietitian-PAC meetings or Dietitian-PAC related meetings in his/her absence and actively participating with the Chairperson in fulfilling the Dietitian-PAC mission. Then, as Chairperson of the Dietitian PAC you will be responsible for leading the Dietitian-PAC in our mission, providing advice to the Surgeon General and the Chief Professional Officer on professional and personnel issues related to the Dietitian category. As per the Dietitian-PAC Charter, selections are based on the nominee’s commitment to public health activities and specified criteria in the charter (e.g., organizational, discipline, gender and minority representation) as determined by the Dietitian-PAC Chairperson and Chief Dietitian Officer, and approved by the Surgeon General.
