Two Steps to Successful Officer Profile System Participation

Important Note to Officers of the Commissioned Corps of the U.S. Public Health Service
– Degrees, licenses, and certifications that are either your qualifying degree or required for continued active duty status are not registered into the Officer Profile System (OPS). The information below only refers to degrees, licenses, and certifications above and beyond the requirements that are mandatory to maintain active duty status.

The OPS has 1,222 accomplishments registered into the system that need to be validated. Your OPS registered accomplishments will not be forwarded to Direct Access until validated. After a degree, license, or certification is registered into the OPS, there is a second requirement. The officer needs to request that the awarding organization send documentation (transcripts for degrees and written verification for licenses or certifications) to the Officer Profile Coordinator (see step 2 below).

Only Primary Source Validation (verification directly from the awarding organization) can be used to validate accomplishments registered in the OPS. The following provides guidance for OPS registration (step 1) and Primary Source Validation (step 2).

Step 1: Register Your Accomplishments into OPS:

  1. Click on https://dcp.psc.gov/cclogin/ccmislogin.aspx and log in.
  2. Go to the Activity Menu, Officer’s section, click on “Profiles Data Entry.”
  3. Click on the appropriate type of entry, Training or Licensure/Certification.
  4. Complete all the information requested then click the “Submit” button.
  5. Your entry will appear on the screen under the appropriate document type.
  6. Add accomplishments, delete an entry, or log out of the system.

Step 2: After registering degrees, licenses, and/or certifications, they need to be primary source verified:

  1. Request that appropriate validation documentation (official transcripts for degrees, supporting documents for licenses or certifications) be sent by the university, college, or awarding organization to:
