Volunteer Opportunities

Thank you for your interest in contributing to the VA-PHS BPS study courses. PHS pharmacists who possess an active BPS certification and who have practice experience in the content areas are invited to apply for opportunities to develop and deliver lectures as a Course Presenter or develop clinical cases and quizzes as a Case Developer for course participants. Additional opportunities exist for non-BPS certified pharmacists to support participant registration as well as content management. See below for additional information on each role respectively.

                                                                               

Course Presenter Role

Coordinated by the respective Series Coordinator

  1. Develop slides and topic study guide for a BPS exam topic, incorporating the latest research and practice guidelines on the topic (e.g. Hypertension, Depression, Dementia). An example case presentation and study guide is available on the BPS Study Course Presenter Resources website.max.gov login required
  2. Deliver the presentation live as part of the VA Federal Partners Webinar Series.
  3. Submit disclosure forms and comply with Course Presenter responsibilities as outlined on the BPS Study Course Presenter Resources website.max.gov login required
  4. Submit slides and study guide by the required deadlines in advance of the presentation.
  5. Respond to requests from Series Coordinators to review and revise cases for quality assurance purposes as needed.

                                                                               

Case Developer Role

Coordinated by the respective Series Coordinator

  1. Develop cases that align with presentation topics along with quiz questions to provide participants the opportunity to apply the concepts from the presentations to clinical scenarios.   2. Respond to requests from Series Coordinators to review and revise cases for quality assurance purposes as needed.

                                                                               

Content Management Role

  1. Support the upload, retrieval, and participant engagement with study resources through content management.
  2. Assist PHS Pharmacists in registering to participate as well as maintaining awareness of series topics and schedules via the listserv.
