Communications and Publications Subcommittees

The Junior Officer Chronicles Subcommittee

The Junior Officer Chronicles (JOC) Subcommittee is responsible for creating the JOC (formerly the JOAG Journal). The JOC increases the visibility of JOAG, the Commissioned Corps, and USPHS through junior officer submissions to the JOC.

Published issues of JOC are located on the Junior Officer Chronicles webpage.

Website Subcommittee

The Website Subcommittee is responsible for disseminating Corps-related information to junior officers via the JOAG website. The subcommittee collaborates with the website coordinators from each JOAG Committee to ensure all the information presented on the website is accurate, current and in compliance with Section 508 regulations.

Website update requests should be submitted to joagwebsiterequests@list.nih.gov using the JOAG Website Update Request Form.

Questions regarding 508 compliance?  Check out the HHS Section 508 website that describes the requirements of Section 508, as well as provides helpful checklists to make documents accessible. For questions and assistance with making a specific document accessible and 508 compliant, please reach out to the Website Subcommittee leads or the IT Chartered Advisory Committee 508 ListServ at PHS508@list.nih.gov

JO Voice Subcommittee

JO Voice is a means for collecting and responding to the questions, concerns, and input from junior officers.  Prior to each JOAG General Meeting, JOAG leadership, under the Communications and Publications Committee, solicits input on a featured topic.  Junior officers are encouraged to submit questions, concerns, or input on the topic to: PHS-JOAG@LIST.NIH.GOV.  The Communications and Publications Committee compiles the input and works with JOAG and other PHS leadership to prepare a response to share with junior officers and for discussion during the next JOAG General Meeting. Responses to past topics can be found here.

Junior officers are also encouraged to submit their ideas for topics or questions or concerns on any topic to: PHS-JOAG@LIST.NIH.GOV. Please add “JO Voice” to the subject heading of any emails. Note that while responses sent via email are not anonymous, names are removed from all questions and comments that are shared with others for response.
