The Professional Development Committee prides itself on the great opportunity to be identified with the transformational growth of the US Public Health Service Commissioned Corps. Don’t you want to be a part of it? You will be expected to meet as a committee once a month and bring forth creative thoughts and ideas, but most importantly, share the desire to assist junior officers in reaching a higher plane as professionals. The Professional Development Committee is responsible for identifying existing career enhancement opportunities for junior officers.

During the coming year we will review and develop general program activities such as public information, education, and research related to professional development while maintaining liaison duties that promote cooperative relations with other JOAG Committees. The Professional Development Committee is always looking for eager Officers with new ideas that will help accomplish the committee's mission and goals.

Please contact one of the Professional Development Chairs for further information.

Mission: To identify issues, provide advice and guidance, and propose solutions to foster and promote Junior Officers as professional, proud, and principled Commissioned Corps Officers.

Please contact the Professional Development Committee Co-Chairs if you would like to join/volunteer with the committee.

NEW: PHS Mentoring Opportunities Webpage

The Professional Development committee is pleased to introduce a new Mentoring Opportunities Webpage. Each category in the Commissioned Corps officers a mentoring program. In each of these programs, mentors provide mentees with one-on-one career guidance to include: career assignments and mobility, awards, deployments, curriculum vitae review, and recommendations to enhance promotion potential. This new site contains a list of all PAC and JOAG mentoring opportunities.
