PACE ORGANIZATIONAL CHART

PACE organized in accordance to the following organizational chart:

PACE PROGRAM

  • Full time employees with the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health (OASH)
  • Focus: President's Initiative - Ending the HIV Epidemic in the United States
  • Develop, implement and evaluate public health interventions through community to reduce new HIV infections.
  • Three Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Regions (IV, VI, and IX) in 48 counties
  • Operation Change the Map
    • Develop short and long term action plans to:
      • Assess community needs in the regions
      • Assist HHS partners in Eliminating HIV

PACE TEAM

  • Volunteers
  • Focus: Implement public health interventions in communities based on local needs based on HHS priorities
  • Office of the Surgeon General (OSG) Chartered Group

SURGEON GENERAL EDUCATION TEAMS (SGETs)

  • Volunteers under OSG appointed leadership
  • Focus: Implement public health interventions in comunities based on OASH and SG priorities
  • OSG Chartered Group

Executive Directors

  • Responsible for administration of the PACE Team and oversee all regional activities.

Chief of Staff

  • Compiles activities reports from regional leads and subcommittee leads
  • Administers and manages PACE communication resources
  • Provides oversight of PACE activities

Subcommittees

PACE subcommittees are responsbile for administering key aspects of the PACE Team

Communication

  • Develop PACE promotion material
  • Maintain PACE social media accounts
  • Ensure PACE publications and media is in line with OSG and OASH Communications

Information Technology

  • Maintain PACE public facing website and secured shared website (max.gov) for internal PACE documents
  • Manage PACE database for tracking PACE activities

Outreach and Retention

  • Advice PACE team on organizational issues related to PACE outreach and retention of its members.
  • Increase PACE visibility through organizing and coordinating events

Presentation Development

  • Create and maintain uniform presentations representative of public health messages by the OSG to be accessed and used by all PACE members.

    Rules and Membership

    • Oversee PACE governance documents
    • Updating PACE standard operating procedures (SOPs)
    • Determine process for appointing voting and non-voting PACE team members
    • Maintain counts and contact information for all voting members
    • Develop recruitment materials and maintain recruitment efforts

    Recognition

    • Determines eligibility for PACE individual, group, and regional awards
    • Coordinates community partner recognition from PACE through SGETs as well as other PACE community recognitions
    • Determine elegibility for PACE letters of appreciation and certificates of appreciation
    • Coordinate eligibility and Commissioned Officer Awards Program submission for PACE team members to be recognized for individual and unit USPHS awards.

    Regional Leads

    • There are two regional leads that plan and execute PACE community outreach activities:
      • Regional East is for HHS Regions 1 through 5
      • Regional West is for HHS Regions 6 through 10
