PACE recognizes officers exceptional performance implementing Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health (OASH) and Office of the Surgeon General (OSG) priorities.

PACE RECOGNITION TYPES

Certificates of Appreciation

Issued automatically to an active duty USPHS Commissioned Corps Officer that participates in five (5) in person hours of community outreach during a PACE operational year, which begins on June 1 and ends on May 31.  The PACE operational year is designated on the year it ends.  For example, PACE operational year 2020 begins on June 1, 2019 and ends on May 31, 2020.

PACE Awards

Awarded annually through a nomination process.  There are two types of PACE Awards:

Outstanding Community Engagement Award

Recognizes an active duty USPHS Commissioned Corps officer's sustained effort, or series of efforts, which manifested in an impactful community service and engagement through exemplary leadership in implementing Suregeon General's initiatives.
