Dental Hygiene

Dental Hygiene: Oral hygiene services: cleanings, exams, screening, emergency care.
 

Competencies:

  • Be familiar with OSHA standards and CDC guidelines regarding infection control.
  • Be able to perform duties in austere conditions using portable equipment and radiograph technologies.
  • Be familiar with HIPAA and aware of the secure nature of Protected Health Information (PHI).
  • Be familiar with the vulnerability of the population serve and perform tasks in a culturally appropriate manner.
 

Trainings/Education/Experience:


Oral Health Educator

Oral Health Educator: Community education awareness, audience demonstration of oral hygiene instruction, water fluoridation promotion.
 

Competencies:

  • Provide education on oral health self-care and preventive care.
  • Be familiar with the vulnerability of the population serve and perform tasks in a culturally appropriate manner.
  • Identify, develop, and deliver messages using a variety of communication strategies, methods, and techniques.
  • Address factors that influence implementation of oral health education/promotion
