Commissioned Corps of the U.S. Public Health Service

Junior Officer Advisory Group

JOAG Peer-to-Peer Network

The JOAG Peer-to-Peer Networking Program was developed to help groom all JOAG officers for professional success, facilitate information exchange, and promote camaraderie through peer based relationships. This is an opportunity to pair junior officers with less than two years of experience with other junior officers who have two or more years of experience in the Commissioned Corps. This opportunity allows junior officers to feel comfortable speaking with peer level officers, promotes solidarity, and encourages mutual professional growth. Experienced officers will have the opportunity to assist new officers as they begin their new PHS careers and provide new officers timely, factual advice and lessons learned from their first years in the PHS. It is an excellent opportunity for experienced officers to instill in new officers a sense of esprit de corps, the importance of the PHS mission, officer responsibilities, and traditions of the Commissioned Corps.  The Peer-to-Peer program runs for six months and participants will receive a Letter of Appreciation upon completion.  Please note, the program will match officers.  Officers cannot select their match in advance.  For additional details regarding this program, read the JOAG Peer-to-Peer Network Flyer.
