Training and Education

The purpose of the Training and Education (T&E) Subcommittee is to support the Professional Development Committee’s mission to identify issues, provide advice and guidance, and propose solutions to foster and promote junior officers as professional, proud, and principled Commissioned Corps Officers.

The T&E Subcommittee will accomplish its purpose by offering high-quality products aimed at increasing Junior Officers’ awareness of training and education opportunities available across all professional categories. Further, the T&E Subcommittee will provide interactive programs that expose junior officers to career and professional development opportunities available and that help them hone and develop their basic leadership skills.

• The purpose of the monthly Officer Spotlight is to provide a forum for junior officers to learn about the unique career experiences of other officers. Officers who would like to be featured during the monthly Officer Spotlight may contact LT Sarah Hughes and LT Julie Witmer.

• Officers can join ongoing discussion by JOAG Professional Development Book Club. Readings are selected to help officers learn leadership and other skills important for their professional development.
