The Asian Pacific American Officers Committee was originally established in 1990 and charted in 1993. APAOC is administered under the Office of Surgeon General (OSG) and is one of four advisory groups of the Minority Officers Liaison Council (MOLC). MOLC provides advice and recommendations to the Surgeon General of the U.S. Public Health Service (USPHS) regarding matters related to minority health and disparity.
The Asian Pacific American Officers Committee is very proud of its history and heritage as part of the U.S Public Health Services. APAOC has been intricately involved with the formation and establishment of MOLC in support of all subordinate minority officers organizations.
APAOC is a diverse Asian Pacific American group, representing ancestral roots from many countries in Asia and Pacific Islands. We are unique, in that many of APAOC members were born outside of the United States and immigrated into this country. We have become physicians, pharmacists, dentists, sanitarians, veterinarians, dietitians, therapists, nurses, scientists, engineers, and Health Services professionals, all collectively working with the same set of core values to enhance the USPHS Commissioned Corps.
