Recruitment and Retention

Mission Statement: The Recruitment and Retention Subcommittee recruits Asian Pacific Americans to the US Public Health Service (USPHS) and USPHS officers to APAOC, and helps retain officers in the USPHS and APAOC. 

Goals for 2023:

  • Create an online form to capture information from officers who wish to sign up for APAOC (at OBC or by email request) and streamline database entry process
  • Recruit additional officers to join APAOC at OBC open houses and other appropriate events
  • Organize events (e.g., social / community / volunteer events (across geographic regions) such as hikes, 5k runs, volunteer or community engagement opportunities) for officer engagement and retention
  • Support the end-of-the-year transition meeting

Eligibility: any Commissioned Corps (CC) officers or Civil Service (CS) personnel interested in the mission and goals of the APAOC.
