PUBLIC HEALTH PROFESSIONAL ADVISORY GROUP (PHPAG) AWARDS

Nominations are OPEN for the 2023 PHPAG Excellence in Leadership and Junior Officer of the Year Awards. The awards deadline is extended to Friday, February 24, 2023.

With more than 300 PHS officers, PHPAG represents the diversity of public health disciplines - Epidemiology, Generalist of Public Health, Global Health, Health Promotion & Education, and Policy. These awards will be presented during the annual USPHS Scientific and Training Symposium. HSPAC and PHPAG Voting Members are not eligible to apply. Applicants must meet Basic Readiness Standards to apply. Background on the Excellence in Leadership Award: The PHPAG Excellence in Leadership Award is presented to a Health Services Officer (HSO), rank O5 and above, who has demonstrated outstanding accomplishments in the field of public health and is recognized by his/her peers for exceptional work toward the mission of the PHPAG. Self-nominations will NOT be considered. The nomination package is attached. 

Background on the Junior Officer of the Year Award: The PHPAG Junior Officer of the Year Award is presented to a Health Services Officer (HSO), rank O4 and below, who has demonstrated exemplary commitment to the mission of the US Public Health Service and is recognized by his/her peers for exceptional work toward the mission of the PHPAG and/or a HSO Professional Advisory workgroup and subcommittee. Self-nominations will be considered. The nomination package is attached.
