BCOAG’s Social Subcommittee Goals:
- Provide an avenue for members to network and build sustained relationships outside the work setting.
- Coordinate BCOAG sponsored events for PHS members and their families to foster interaction through activities in a social setting in various geographical areas.
- Increase social events outside of the DMV & Atlanta
- Host 1-2 team building activities amongst the BCOAG general body
- Host an annual social event at COF and an end of the year annual social event encouraging participation from all BCOAG members within the USPHS.

Call for Social Leads:
Are you interested in being a Social Lead in your city or region? We need your help to plan activities for Officers where you work, live and socialize.
Qualifications:
- Must be a current and active member of BCOAG.
- Must be enthusiastic, outgoing, detailed-oriented, organized, and personable with good communication skills.
- Social Lead(s) are responsible for securing social venues for locally planned events which may include, but not limited to:
- Coordinating logistics and facility arrangements
- Serving as the POC for the event
- Developing agenda
- Taking the lead in drafting a report of each event for COA Frontline publication and other PHS newsletters
- Encouraging and recommending participation among subcommittee members to plan future events
- Submitting a written summary with pictures of the event to the Social Chair/Co-Chair within 15 days of the event.
Meetings:
- BCOAG Social Committee Meetings will be on the 3rd Friday of each month from 1100 - 1200 EST. The conference call information for the call: (240) 800-7959, Participant Access Code: 924639403#.
- All members are asked to email their attendance to these meetings to CDR Akara Ingram (aingram@hrsa.gov). In order to receive recognition at the end of the year for your participation, members are asked to attend at least 50% of the meetings during the calendar year. Certificates for Appreciation will be provided to officers who lead social events. Thank you letters will be provided to special presenters.
