BCOAG Recruitment, Retention and readiness:
The BCOAG Recruitment, Retention and readiness (3R’s) Committee is committed to recruit, retain and improve readiness status of Black Commissioned officers. The 3R’s Committee is committed to expanding recruitment, retention and readiness activities across all regions to engage more officers outside Washington, DC and Atlanta area.
The Committee is comprised of three teams. The goals of each team are listed below:
Recruitment Team
To assure awareness of the USPHS and its career opportunities among health professional schools and associations, provider institutions, and the public. For more information, please contact LCDR Darion Smith.
OBC Recruitment
To facilitate awareness of BCOAG by attending OBC Graduations and Open Houses and engaging with new officers. For more information, please contact LCDR Letetia Morgan.
Retention Team
To share resources to decrease the number of black commissioned officers pursuing premature retirement, rather separation from the U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps by providing direct or indirect career support tools. For more information, please contact LCDR Ignatius Otteh.
Readiness Team
To increase overall awareness of readiness activities; provide BCOAG members with updates and reminders regarding readiness status and pertinent issues related to maintaining basic readiness. For more information, please contact LT Ijeoma Odigwe and LT Jasmine Alexander.
