As you prepare for Promotion Year (PY) 2015, the following resources are available to assist you:
-
Use the 2015 Promotion Checklist, at
http://dcp.psc.gov/CCMIS/promotions/2015_Promotion_Year_Checklist.aspx to prepare. In addition to the guidance that this document provides, it clearly identifies all documents that are required for promotion, where to send them and what the deadlines for submission are.
- Use your 2015 Category Benchmarks, at http://dcp.psc.gov/CCMIS/promotions/Category_Benchmarks.aspx, when writing your Officer’s Statement (OS) and updating your Curriculum Vitae (CV). The benchmarks define the guidelines that the boards use to evaluate each officer for promotion. Be familiar with these and address them as you craft your documents.
- Access the mentoring resources of your Professional Advisory Committee (PAC), which can be found on your PAC website. The PAC websites are located at
http://www.usphs.gov/corpslinks/. Ideally, you should be involved in mentoring throughout your PHS career - initially, as a mentee, and as you progress in experience and rank, as a mentor.
- Contact your agency Liaison for assistance. Liaison contact
information is located at
http://ccmis.usphs.gov/ccmis/PDF_docs/sgpac.pdf.
