Commissioned Corps Headquarters is pleased to announce the availability of a new service to support all officers separating from active duty. As of 30 September 2013, the primary point of contact for the coordination of retirements, terminations and other separations functions are Separations Counselors located within the Assignments Section, Assignments and Career Management Branch (ACMB), Division of Commissioned Corps Personnel and Readiness (DCCPR). The Separations Counselor role marks a milestone of improved customer service within DCCPR and was created based upon communicated needs from officers, dependents, and agency customers. This role consolidates functions previously delivered in other DCCPR units and also delivers new services. The goal of the Separations Counselors is to successfully and efficiently coordinate your transition from active duty. Specific functions and services include:
  • Pre-separation counseling
  • Tracking of separation requests
  • Management of separation cases
  • Coordination of personnel orders processing
  • Final leave balance management
  • Education on transition process
  • Exit interviews/ retention surveys
  • Communication hub for officers, family members and agency liaisons
  • General information and expectation management
  • Survivor assistance
