CDC Vital Signs
CDC Vital Signs is a call-to-action to the nation about a key public health problem based on the latest national scientific data. Information about the topic for the month is released on the first Tuesday of each month by the CDC Director via press teleconference. At the same time, an MMWR and professional 4-page fact sheet are released, along with many other communications pieces, including a podcast, social media, and website update, all expressed in plain language. The program has won three national awards for quality and innovation, including the HHSInnovates Secretary’s Pick Award last September.
