Dietitian PAC Weight Management Program Online
Submitted by: Dietitian PAC Wellness Subcommittee
An online weight management program, created by a committee of U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps (Corps) Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (RDNs), is now available. The program is designed for Corp officers and members of the public seeking general information and guidance on obtaining and maintaining a healthy body weight.
The weight management program consists of six modules. Each module is self-paced to ensure users are comfortable with the lesson before moving on. Allow at least one week, and no more than two weeks, to view and implement lifestyle changes taught in each lesson. Each module builds on the previous session, therefore it is important to complete the program in the order it is presented. Each module will take approximately 30 minutes to complete.
Format
All six modules are presented as lectures using PowerPoint slides. Each session also includes printable handouts and notes to follow along.
Objectives
After completing all six session, you should be able to:
-
Understand how being at a healthy body weight relates to your health and fitness
-
Set an appropriate weight loss goal
-
Learn ways to change your eating habits and physical activity so that you may achieve weight loss, maintain a healthy weight, and improve your health
-
Learn how to find reputable resources to assist you with your weight loss or weight maintenance efforts
