The USPHS Commissioned Corps is committed to our mission to protect, promote, and advance the health and safety of the nation. Public Health Service officers are trained and equipped to provide crucial public health leadership, assist with policy development, advance innovation and science, provide essential care services and respond to national and global public health emergencies. Through our Active Duty Regular Corps, our Public Health Response Strike Team (PHERST) and our Ready Reserve Corps, we remain responsive and available to rapidly deploy in the service of health.

About Corps Care
Mission: To establish and implement a uniform and comprehensive strategy to meet the physical, behavioral, and spiritual health needs of all United States Public Health Service (USPHS) Commissioned Corps officers.
Vision: Provide access to comprehensive health services for all Commissioned Corps officers.
Corps Care supports Commissioned Corps officers throughout their careers, including deployments, and by increasing awareness of available resources to address their physical, behavioral, and spiritual health needs. Corps Care is a comprehensive program that assists officers with improving readiness and preparedness, building resiliency, and cultivating healthier lives.
While we do not provide direct treatment, we provide guidance, support, and assistance as it relates to the following:
- Strengthening and building resiliency
- Coordinating resources
- Promoting officer wellness
Note: Staff responds to officer contacts M – F during normal business hours and intermittently on weekends. Utilize the crisis lines below after hours.

Resources Employee Assistance Programs
Employee Assistance Programs (EAP) provide short-term counseling, vetted legal and financial consultations, fitness classes, and resources to employees from their agency.
